As its name implies, this program allows users to recover damaged MS Excel files. As any other file types, spreadsheets made with Excel can be damaged due to several causes like virus infections, power cuts, corrupted storage media, and so on. Taking into account that Excel files are used to record accountability and other important data, it can be very useful to have this tool installed on your computer. To recover a file, you only need to select it from the program's main interface, and then click on the Analyze button. The program will start recovering all the usable data on the file and will show them on the screen. Also, you can send the corrupted file to the app's developers to see if they can recover it.
One important disadvantage of the program is that it hasn't been updated in a while; the latest compatible OS stated on its website is Windows Vista. Nevertheless, since the program is compatible with Office 2007, it can be assumed that the software can manage Excel 2010 and 2013, since they all have the .xlsx extension.
The shareware version only allows you to see the recoverable data of the file, but not to actually recover it. To do this, you will need to purchase the full version. If you often use Excel files, you may want to have this program just in case.
